Lyrikal “Kal” TMG is an award-winning 21st century renaissance man specializing in video and music production, and graphic design for musicians and recording artists, companies, and non-profit organizations throughout the United States.
Kal began his artistic career as a music producer and an internationally performing musician, whose performed all over the country stretching to tour in Thailand, Europe, Hungary, and China. His career and portfolio quickly evolved to serve creative and corporate clients as a visual and audio artist creating in videography, photography, graphic design, sound design, and branding.
Respected as a visionary, Kal is sought after as a music producer and videographer with clients coast to coast and in some of the largest US cities including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, San Antonio, and Los Angeles. In a career spanning two decades, Kal has worked with hundreds of artists including E-40, Too Short, Twista, Tech N9ne, Stevie Stone and up-and-comers all over the country.
In 2018, Kal opened The Studio, a facility which operates not only as a recording studio where beats, soundscapes, photography and music videos for artists have been created, but which also serves as a creative and cultural hub for artists in Kal’s community.
Although music and video production is his speciality, Kal has also been sought after as a graphic designer, logo designer, and brand strategist. In this capacity, he has created for non-profit and for-profit entities in dozens of industries including music and record labels, real estate, small businesses, school districts, colleges and universities, travel agencies, and municipal entities. Kal’s professional contributions to and impact on the cultural landscape of his homebase in the Midwest region, in particular, is noteworthy.
In 2022, Kal created Mic Check Iowa, an initiative designed to support and advance the careers of Iowa hip hop musicians through the production of site-specific, economically accessible, high quality music videos.
For his work as a music and video producer, Kal was most recently awarded Top Producer, Videographer, and Video of the Year at the 2022 Iowa Music Awards. He lives in the Midwest with his family.
